3 Traditional Cuban recipes

If you have visited Cuba on occasion, I can assure you have tried some of the exquisite traditional Cuban dishes, and also wanted to take then home, however, has not been possible to retain in memory the ingredients, or simply unaware of the steps for processing. In any case we are proposing today to take note of 3 traditional Cuban recipes we suggest, and if you have tried these dishes will surely remember some quality time in Cuba, and if you have not tried it, it could begin to know our culinary delights.

Calabaza-Rellena-de-CarneFirst we suggest the Pumpkin stuffed with pork, and for processing you must have the following ingredients:

1 1/2 kg of gourd
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
500 gr. of minced pork
4 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoons fresh basil
30 gr. grated hard cheese
5 gr. lard
1 pinch black pepper
salt to taste

Cut the pumpkin in their extreme and remove it shell. Put away the seeds opening a hole in the middle. Peel and cut garlic and the onion. Melt the lard half and fry the onion and one clove of garlic for 5 minutes. Add meat, tomato paste, the oregano and basil. Spice and revolve for 10 minutes. Remove of the fire, add the cheese and mix. Refill the pumpkin with the meat mixture. Spread with the resting lard a sheet of aluminum foil put on top pumpkin and sprinkle with resting garlic. Close the aluminum foil as a package and put in oven in 180ºC during an hour. Finally remove the paper, cut in slice and serve very hot.

Another delicious proposal is the Okra Stew confectioning with following ingredients:quimbombo-guisado
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
2 tomatoes
40 gr. of mince ham
5 gr. lard
salt, pepper and sesame to taste

First of all, you should select the sweetest okra you have. Cut de extremes and discard, and cut the rest in to slices. Put the lard in a frying pan and add the minced onion, garlic, tomatoes and minced ham; and mix everything. Finally add the okra and cover with enough broth. Add salt and pepper and when it is cooked add a little ground roasted sesame seeds.

tamal criolloFinally we suggest  Creole tamales leaves. The ingredients and steps for processing are:

3 cups grated or ground corn
350 g of pork
1 large onion
6 cloves of garlic
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
2 tablespoons oil
Salt to taste

To prepare the tamales in foil must first oil saute the pork cut into small pieces. When meat is browned incorporate the chopped spices until wilted. Then add the paprika and mix with grated corn, salt and pepper. Start pouring the mixture into the corn husks previously selected one of them forming a cartuchito folding the bottom up and cover it with a sheet folded down the bottom. Place a piece of strong thread in each cartuchito to prepare to form a cross by tying up the middle. Finally put these tamales in a large bowl with hot water and salt, and let boil for 25 minutes. Remove the tamales from the water, and remove the leaves when you eat them.
